Welcome to

Brooklyn-based drummer, percussionist and song writer Ben Teters was born into a family of musicians and began honing his skills as a drummer at the age of seven, forming his first band at 15. Ben is a 2012 graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied with Kenwood Dennard, Mike Mangini and Mark Walker. Since moving to New York City, he has been active on the NYC scene and maintained a busy touring schedule. These include Satsang, Sidney Mills (Steel Pulse), electric blues artist Seth Walker, America’s Got Talent finalist Cas Haley, legendary bass player Bakithi Kumalo (Paul Simon), Grammy Award winner Chris Berry, award winning dance troupe Dorrance Dance, Tubby Love, Afrobeat jazz group The Brighton Beat, and many others

Ben is a founding member of Brooklyn reggae outfit SUNDUB. Their first single “Burden of Love” was released in April 2019, with the full length album coming later this June. Listen to “Burden of Love” here.

Ben also leads his own group, Palmslap, as drummer and lead vocalist, offering original compositions that blend funk grooves with Afro-Latin rhythms, Reggae and jazz.

SUNDUB - “Won’t Go Easy” (single)

Out of the club and into the studio, “Wont Go Easy” is the second single that solidifies the sonic projection of (SUNDUB) for eternity. Collaborating in production with reggae great Sidney Mills of Steel Pulse on organ (who also mixed the track) and Larry McDonald (percussionist for countless legendary acts like Peter Tosh and Taj Mahal) SUNDUB is creating summer sounds and hot jams for your dub club or your home dome. - Rootfire

SUNDUB - “Burden of Love” (single)

“Burden of Love" features reggae royalty The Chronic Horns (Easy Star All-Stars), Larry McDonald (Lee Scratch Perry, Gil Scott-Heron) and is mixed and co-produced by Sidney Mills (Steel Pulse). They lend their talents to Joanna Teters' commanding and soulfully smoky lead vocals and blend seamlessly with the super tight arrangements of the SUNDUB rhythm section. The result is a stand out expression of reggae’s classic undulating pulse and lush subterranean grooves, reinvented for listeners of all times and genres.”

Satsang - “Kulture”

The record from Satsang, entitled “Kulture”, features eleven new songs that display a continued evolution in the band's sound and the essence of what Satsang is through the amalgamation of all of musical influences; ranging from 90’s Hip Hop to 70's Rock.
